Tribe Makes annual Visit to Fresno California

 

On Saturday, June 12, 2010, Chairman Peter Yucupicio, Vice-Chairman Robert Valencia, Treasure John Escalante and Council Members; Jesus Osuña, Arcadio Gastelum, and David Ramirez, and the Enrollment staff made their annual visit to Fresno.  The trip was a great success and well attended providing enrollment services to over 200 tribal members and applicants. Thoroughout the day presentations were made by Vice Chairman Valencia and Richard Tellez on the Yaqui language, cultural and history.  Along with the Higher Education staff providing information on the Tribe’s education services.  

There was also representation from the Pascua Yaqui Tribal Council that met with members to answer any questions they had in regards to the Tribe. In addition, a presentation from the Language and Cultural Department was provided with morning and afternoon sessions on Yaqui history and culture along with listening to your language.
